Fiji to Sydney to Port Douglas…
Departure from Fiji – it has been a great 3 days, but boy is Sydney a nice place to go to too! Especially if you can visit Maile, Charlie and their kids (one who give up his room for Alicia and Leendert!)
The view from the top of the roof is stunning (but pales against the hospitality) and the fun Heidi and the kids have with the extended family. It is amazing what joy ex-colleagues can bring!
It was a short stay, and off went to Port Douglas. A lovely place Heidi has found and it was a serious homework day. Let there be no doubt, book reports are written, math is hammered home, English is being taken very seriously…. it is just the environment is slightly different!

Fiji- at the Hotel and on a road trip

A road trip took us to a lunch at the guides house… and later the villagers made us drink the cava (in the full ceremony) 
Practical things also happen – Leendert getting a haircut…
Fiji – a day on the water- Snorkel and our Island
Great day on a boat (with life music), to a more-or-less to private Island in luxury. Kids happy on the water and in the water. Idyllic! Kids got photobombed by fish though!
Fiji
Paradise! It is just like the Galapagos just with less amazing animals but the hotel is … I have no words for it except the words I used this morning. “Is it possible to feel to welcome?” Comfort ++. Beauty ++. Incredible!
San Francisco
San Francisco is an amazing city. It is unique, beautiful, and diverse. The steep hills like I have seen only in movies to China town ,which is just Asia in the middle of the U.S, to Stanford and its neighborhood. Wow!
Arrived well and sound in Fiji
Very early arrival with Fiji Airways (2.5 hours ahead of schedule).
Sheraton let us check in early,… gorgeous sunrise (one picture with, one with out family). Idilic!
USA – California
Great time at Dean’s, and lovely drive to San Francisco.
You can see that the kids were keen on supporting the Golden Gate Bridge. Leendert also felt the need to hang on the bridge as well.
At Dean’s we established Leendert is still one mm (actually 1degree) sm : ‘look mom I am taller that you!’
