A visit to the main temple of Chiang Mai
And Alicia’s favorite Mango Seat bar….
Chiang Mai. To the craft street – Silver, Cotton, Silk– but parasols were worth it!
Taking flight in tree tops – Zip-line through the Jungle…
A day on a farm outside Chiang Mai – full day cooking school! And some picking ourselves (Leendert picking a Cashew!)…
Chiang Mai – temple visits. Up a hill – nice view. Long staircase, and lots of gold on top.
The symbol of a ‘white’ elephant which chose the temple spot, in contrast with today’s monks, slightly more tech savvy!
The Wat U-mong – a temple under ground – tunnels for prayer….
Chiang Mai day one: Quiet day till the evening – The street market and dinner in the old town (ladies in black).
On the way to Chiang Mai – Hot springs,… if it weren’t for the fact that it is physically on route one would not ever stop…
Chiang Rai – White Temple (and gold toilet), Sculpture details. Stunning in its detail.
Long-neck ladies – pity them…..
And the Black House Museum – eccentric!
Dad fighting Sigha Beer
Biking in Chiang Rai, then elephants, then a boat
Dinner in Cabbages and Condoms. Great concept for a restaurant (not sleazy as you might expect); focus is on family planning and communicable deceases. Lost of decorations with condoms (as shown below). Reasonable good food but service unfortunately was far below par. Good Sex-Ed platform for the kids! Wat Po – and the Reclined Buddha – incredible.
Blending in with the locals – while the rain commences…
Dancing in the rainwater…
Spicy lunch at the museum (bit too hot!) – the Siam Museum!
Bangkok, a vist at the Escape Hunt and great Maki place.
A day in the apartment – Heidi as High School principle.
Forgot to take pictures at diner with the tailors. But the ‘roll my car away’ parking was pretty funny. No hand break so if a car needs to get out, the Honda gets pushed back- or forward!
